Last Wednesday, the Wizards failed to cover an 11.5-point spread in California, as the Clippers went 27-for-27 from the foul line. Washington shot 45.5% from the field (10-for-38 from deep) while going 13-for-17 from the foul line. Kyshawn George led the way with 23 points and five rebounds, and Khris Middleton had 17 points and five assists.

Bilal Coulibaly (10.1 PPG, 4.7 RPG) exited the Clippers game with a back injury and is questionable for Friday’s clash against Sacramento. The Sacramento Kings (11-30; 16-25 ATS; 18-23 O/U) put an end to their seven-game losing streak last Sunday, beating the Houston Rockets 111-98 as 14.5-point home underdogs. Since then, the Kings have defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 124-112 as 9.5-point home dogs and the New York Knicks 112-101 as 10.5-point home dogs.

Last Wednesday, the Kings held the Knicks to 39.0% shooting from the field (8-for-41 from deep). Sacramento made 47.3% of its field goals (10-for-27 from deep) while going 32-for-38 from the charity stripe. DeMar DeRozan led the way with 27 points and six rebounds, Zach LaVine had 25 points and five boards, and Russell Westbrook added 19 points and 11 assists.

DeRozan tallies 19.1 points per game this season, but he’s surpassed a 20-point mark in five straight outings. The Kings cannot count on Domantas Sabonis (17.2 PPG, 12.3 RPG) and Keegan Murray (14.6 PPG, 6.1 RPG), so their frontcourt is pretty thin at the moment. Dennis Schroder (13.0 PPG, 5.7 APG) served his three-game suspension and will suit up on Friday night.

Sacramento is seven games behind the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference. The Kings score 109.5 points per 100 possessions (29th in the NBA) and allow 120.0 points in return (27th). They are 28th in the league in defensive rebound percentage (71.8%) and 16th in defensive turnover percentage (12.6%).

Sacramento misses Domantas Sabonis and Keegan Murray a lot. The Kings lack height and length, but I’m not sure that Washington has enough weapons to take advantage of Sacramento’s shortcomings. The Wizards are a bad rebounding team, and their defense is one of the worst in the league.

This is the clash between a couple of bad teams, and I have to go with the Kings, who are unbeaten in three straight outings.

As I said, we’ll see a couple of bad teams. Both Washington and Sacramento have been awful on defense for most of the season, and they’ve struggled to score, too. The Wizards are 17th in the league in 3-point percentage, while the Kings are 20th in this category (34.9%). Both teams are in the bottom six in 2-point percentage.

The betting trends suggest the under. Eight of Washington’s last 10 games overall and six of Sacramento’s previous seven home contests have gone under the total. Moreover, the under has hit in 12 of their last 16 head-to-head duels.

When it comes to pace, the Wizards are eighth in the NBA (101.2 possessions per 48 minutes), while the Kings are 16th (99.8). I expect the Kings to slow things down a bit and force the Wizards into half-court basketball. The Wizards won’t force a lot of turnovers and could easily continue to struggle on the defensive glass.
