OKC Thunder (22-1) vs. Utah Jazz (8-14)

There are seven games around the Association on Sunday, December 7, 2025, and in this preview, we are breaking down the Northwest Division showdown from Delta Center in Salt Lake City, UT, to get you the Thunder vs. Jazz prediction.

The reigning NBA champions meet the Jazz for the second time this season. Two weeks ago, the Thunder dismantled the Jazz 144-112 at Delta Center, covering a huge 16.5-point spread with ease. Now, OKC is searching for its seventh straight victory over Utah.

Let’s take a closer look at this Thunder vs. Jazz prediction, one of our NBA picks for Sunday’s card. The tip-off at Delta Center is set at 8:00 PM ET.

The Thunder continue to dominate

The OKC Thunder (22-1; 12-11 ATS; 13-10 O/U) are rolling on a 14-game winning streak. During that stretch, the Thunder have gone 7-7 against the spread. OKC will aim for its third straight ATS victory on Sunday night.

The Thunder are coming off Friday’s 132-111 home victory against the Dallas Mavericks. OKC committed just six turnovers and hit 16 of its 37 shots from deep. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sat out the fourth quarter, finishing the game with 33 points and six assists.

OKC is having a ridiculous season, and Gilgeous-Alexander leads the way with 32.8 points and 6.4 assists per game. The Thunder score 121.0 points per 100 possessions (5th in the NBA) while surrendering just 105.7 points in return (1st).

Isaiah Hartenstein (12.2 PPG, 10.7 RPG) is out with a calf injury. Isaiah Joe (12.9 PPG), Luguentz Dort (8.0 PPG), and Alex Caruso (5.7 PPG) are all questionable for Sunday’s game against Utah.

The Jazz are coming off a blowout loss

The Utah Jazz (8-14; 12-10 ATS; 14-8 O/U) just missed an opportunity to extend their winning streak to three games. After consecutive victories against the Houston Rockets 133-125 and the Brooklyn Nets 123-110, the Jazz suffered a 146-112 defeat at the New York Knicks this past Friday.

Utah’s defense fell apart on the second night of a back-to-back set. The Knicks shot 56.0% from the field (21-for-42 from downtown) while posting a 30/13 assist-to-turnover ratio. The Jazz made 40.2% of their field goals (15-for-42 from deep), and Lauri Markkanen led the way with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Markkanen averages 27.6 points and 6.5 boards, while Keyonte George tallies 22.9 points and 6.9 assists per game. The Jazz score 114.9 points per 100 possessions (19th in the NBA) and allow a whopping 121.9 points in return (28th).

Utah is pretty much healthy, but keep in mind that Walker Kessler (14.4 PPG, 10.8 RPG) is done for the season with a shoulder injury. His absence is a huge blow for the Jazz, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Thunder vs. Jazz Pick

Spread Pick for Thunder vs. Jazz

  • OKC Thunder -11.5 (4 units)

I’m not going to overthink this game, and I don’t care how big the spread is. Just a couple of weeks ago, the Thunder beat the Jazz by 32 points at Delta Center. OKC went 23-for-37 from deep while outscoring Utah 50-34 in the paint.

The Jazz will try to keep it close on the back of their 3-point shooting. Utah is 10th in the league in 3-point rate (.437), but the Jazz make just 34.3% of their shots from deep (25th). OKC’s defense is 23rd in the NBA in 3-point percentage (37.1%), so Utah’s only hope is to hit 25 triples.

Anyway, Utah’s defense is bad. I expect the Thunder to score at will.

Over/Under Pick for Thunder vs. Jazz

  • Over 235 (4 units)

Utah likes to play fast, and OKC won’t mind joining the party. The Jazz register 101.6 possessions per 48 minutes (tied for 5th in the NBA), while the Thunder record 99.6 possessions per 48 minutes (19th).

OKC takes excellent care of the ball, whereas Utah is turnover-prone. The Thunder will look to take full advantage of Utah’s transition defense, and I expect another high-scoring encounter between these two foes. The over is 8-1 in the last nine meetings between OKC and Utah, and it is 13-3 in Utah’s last 16 outings at home.
