Milwaukee Sends out their Ace
The Milwaukee Brewers are sending out 24-year old Jacob Misiorowski to start in this late night tilt, and he has one of the strongest arms in all of baseball. Earlier this season, Misiorowski threw 57 pitches that reached 100 MPH, the most ever in a single game. The Brewers sit at the top of the NL Central, currently holding a comfortable 4.5-game lead over the second place Pirates. Milwaukee just split a four game series with the Giants, and will look to get their momentum back here as they lost the final two games against San Francisco.
Thursday's game against San Francisco was a high scoring shootout, where the Brewers scored nine runs, but it was still not enough as they gave up twelve in the loss. Jackson Chourio had a big game with two home runs and four RBIs while batting second in the lineup. Chourio is an up and coming star, but has battled some injuries this season, as he has only played in 26 of the 60 games for the Brewers. Jake Bauers has been their top home run hitter with ten on the season, he bats fifth while playing first base, but can also take a spot in the outfield when needed. William Contreras is their catcher who bats cleanup, he has a strong .285 batting average, and leads the team with 37 RBIs.
Misiorowski will make his 13th start of the season, and has a 6-2 overall record on the year. He has 108 strikeouts against just 19 walks, with the second best ERA in all of baseball out of qualified pitchers at 1.65. In his last start, he pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits in a win over Houston.

Rockies Win Consecutive Series
The Colorado Rockies are trying to climb out of the basement of the NL West, and have won their last two series heading into this battle with Milwaukee. They took two of three games at home against the Giants, then won two of three on the road against the Angels. They are just one game behind the Giants for fourth in the division, but are still a large 16 games behind the Dodgers at the top.
The Rockies lost the last game against the Angels, as they gave up 11 runs while only scoring four. Tyler Freeman had a home run and two RBIs for the Rockies, but it was not enough to lead them to victory. Freeman bats second in the lineup and has three home runs and 17 RBIs while batting .277 at the plate. Hunter Goodman has been their top offensive threat, the catcher bats cleanup and leads the team with 15 home runs while adding 27 RBIs. TJ Rumfield has been a productive first baseman, he leads the way with 30 RBIs while contributing another eight home runs.
Tanner Gordon will make his third start of the season, but also has seven additional appearances out of the bullpen. The 28-year old right hander is typically a relief pitcher, but is being forced to the mound due to injuries. He has a 6.37 ERA to go with a 35-8 strikeout to walk ratio. In his last start he lasted just three innings, allowing four earned runs in a loss against the Giants.
Brewers vs. Rockies Picks and Predictions
Runline pick for Brewers vs. Rockies
- Brewers -1.5 (5 units)
Can't go against the hot hand on the mound in this one, as Misiorowski has been one of the best pitchers in baseball over the past month. The power has not faded, and if anything it keeps getting faster as he recently three 57 pitches over 100 MPH in a recent game. This type of heat will be too much for the Rockies, who struggle offensively against the average pitcher. Colorado may be going with a bullpen game here, as Gordon only pitched three innings in his last start, and is typically a reliever. Chourio is healthy for the Brewers, and he will lead this offense to a comfortable win.
Take Milwaukee to cover the runline.
Over/Under Pick for Brewers vs. Rockies
- Under (4 units)
Milwaukee will win and cover the runline without breaking a sweat in this one, which will result in an under. Misiorowski is on the mound for Milwaukee, and he has only given up one earned run over his last five starts combined. His 1.65 ERA is second best in baseball, and Colorado will not be able to find success against him at the plate. The Brewers will cruise to an easy victory here, without the need of running up the score.
Take the under.
