Los Angeles Angels vs Toronto Blue Jays Picks and Prediction for Sunday May 10 2026
Use Code WWWC The Los Angeles Angels and Toronto Blue Jays close out their weekend series on Sunday, May 10, with Toronto looking for the sweep after taking the first two games in very different fashion. The Blue Jays won a tight 2-0 game on Friday before exploding for a 14-1 blowout on Saturday, dropping the Angels deeper into another rough stretch.
Toronto enters at 18-21 overall, but the Blue Jays have been much better at home with a 12-8 record. Los Angeles comes in at 15-25 and just 7-15 on the road. The Angels have not posted a winning season since 2015, and after losing 11 of their last 14 games, this season is starting to look familiar. Another losing year for the Angels
The Angels have had a tough season overall, but Sunday gives them one of their better chances to stop the bleeding. Los Angeles has lost 11 of its last 14 games, and the first two games of this series did not go well. The Angels were shut out on Friday and then were embarrassed 14-1 on Saturday. That makes this a pride spot, but more importantly, they have the clear pitching edge.

Sunday's listed starter, Jose Soriano, has been one of the few bright spots for this team. The right-hander enters at 5-2 with a 1.74 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 46.2 innings. He has allowed only 32 hits while striking out 54 batters, good for 10.4 strikeouts per nine innings. His walk total is still a little high with 19 free passes, but he has been dominant enough to pitch around trouble.
Offensively, the Angels are not elite, but they have enough power to attack this matchup. Mike Trout leads the club with 11 home runs, Jorge Soler has a team-best 28 RBI, and Jo Adell leads the team in hits while batting .261. Against a struggling lefty in Eric Lauer, the Angels should have chances early.
Blue Jays going for the sweep
Toronto has not looked like the same team that made a World Series run last season, but the Blue Jays are still dangerous at home. They enter Sunday at 18-21 overall, which is disappointing, but their 12-8 home record tells a different story. This team has still been much more comfortable at Rogers Centre, and the first two games of this series showed how quickly the lineup can wake up.
The Blue Jays won 2-0 on Friday, then hammered the Angels 14-1 on Saturday. That type of offensive eruption could be a confidence boost for a lineup that has underachieved for much of the season. Toronto ranks just 27th in baseball at 3.9 runs per game, so the Blue Jays have not been consistent. Still, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is batting .317 with a .405 on-base percentage, and Kazuma Okamoto has supplied power with 10 home runs and 25 RBI.
The concern is the pitching matchup. Eric Lauer is 1-4 with a 6.03 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 31.1 innings. He has allowed 33 hits, 14 walks, and eight home runs. Toronto has lost five of his last six starts, and even with a strong home record, this is not the arm I want to trust at a short price.
Angels vs Blue Jays Predictions
Angels vs Blue Jays Moneyline Pick
- Angels -120 (5 units)
I like the Angels on the moneyline at -120 because Jose Soriano gives Los Angeles the biggest edge in this game. Soriano has pitched at a near Cy Young level through the first part of the season. That is a major advantage over Eric Lauer, who has struggled to a 6.03 ERA and has already allowed eight home runs.
Toronto has dominated the first two games of the series, but this is a good bounce-back spot for Los Angeles. The Angels should be able to score early against Lauer, and Soriano is good enough to keep Toronto from taking control.
Angels vs Blue Jays Total Pick
- Total Pick: Over 8
I also like the over 8 in this matchup. Even though Jose Soriano has been outstanding, the Angelsβ bullpen is still very hard to trust. Los Angeles owns one of the worst team ERAs in baseball at 5.40, and that creates a path for Toronto to score late even if Soriano gives the Angels a strong start.
The early scoring opportunity should come against Eric Lauer. He has a 6.03 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and has allowed eight home runs in just 31.1 innings. The Angels average 4.4 runs per game, and this is a matchup where their power bats can do damage.
Torontoβs offense has been inconsistent, but after scoring 14 runs on Saturday, and they can do enough to help push this over the low total.
