Missouri Tigers Producing Big Numbers During Perfect Start

Missouri has scored 92 points while winning its first two games, including 38 on the road against Kansas. Austin Simmons has completed 36 of 48 passes for 544 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions, averaging 11.3 yards per attempt. Missouri has 649 passing yards as a team and another 382 on the ground. Jamal Roberts leads the rushing attack with 172 yards and two touchdowns on 41 carries, while Xai'Shaun Edwards has added 90 yards and one score.

Donovan Olugbode leads Missouri’s receiving corps with 13 catches for 228 yards and three touchdowns. Cayden Lee has been another major threat with 11 receptions for 209 yards and two scores, averaging 19.0 yards per catch. Missouri’s defense has recorded five sacks and two interceptions. Nicholas Rodriguez leads the Tigers with 11 tackles and one sack. Daeden Hopkins and Donta Simpson have 1.5 sacks apiece, while Robert Woodyard Jr. has an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Injuries: G. Hoffman, J. Brady and C. Green are questionable with undisclosed injuries. A. Hardy is out with a leg injury.

Troy vs Missouri Key to the Game

Troy needs to disrupt Simmons before Missouri’s passing game creates explosive plays downfield. Simmons is completing 75.0 percent of his attempts and averaging 11.3 yards per throw, with seven touchdowns and no interceptions. Troy has recorded seven sacks, so its defensive front has produced enough pressure to challenge the Tigers. Missouri also has Roberts available to work the ground game. For Troy, sustained drives from Crowder, Merriweather and Griffin would help keep Missouri’s high-producing offense off the field for longer stretches.

Troy vs Missouri Game Pick

  • Missouri -27.5 (-102)

Missouri -27.5 is the pick after the Tigers opened with two convincing victories and followed their 54-point opener with 38 at Kansas. Simmons has completed 75.0% of his passes with seven touchdowns and no interceptions, while Olugbode and Lee have combined for 437 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Troy has created seven sacks, and Crowder has protected the football, but Missouri has considerably more production through the air. The Tigers have enough offensive balance to build a sizable advantage at home and cover the spread.

Troy vs Missouri Over/Under Pick

  • Over 49.5 (-112)

Over 49.5 is the pick with Missouri scoring 92 points across its opening two victories and Troy producing 58 during its unbeaten start. Simmons has seven touchdown passes, while Missouri has also rushed for five scores. Troy has four passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns, with Merriweather averaging 7.8 yards per carry and Keyes averaging 23.9 yards per reception. Missouri has several ways to generate touchdowns, and Troy has enough offensive production to contribute. A strong Missouri total will cash the total over 49.5.
